Euro NCAP awards five-star rating to five new cars

The Volvo V40 is Euro NCAP’s all time top scorer in its segment. What sets the V40 apart from its competitors is the Pedestrian Airbag technology, which comes standard across the V40 range. The bonnet is raised and the exterior airbag is deployed in a split second – partially covering the A-pillars and windscreen – when sensors detect a collision with a pedestrian. This has earned the car an 88% score in pedestrian protection, the highest achieved in this part of the assessment.
