Facebook’s News Feed is About to Get A Whole Lot More Animated

Graphics Interchange Format (GIFs) images have been around since 1987. But so far, most users have only engaged the format to share animated images from our favourite funny videos and animations. While animated GIFs have mainly been replaced by emoticons, stickers, emojis, and MEMEs to express emotion and feelings, it is now making a comeback as the content used for it now then to be a bit more hilarious. This is probably why Facebook recently announced that its News Feed will now support animated GIFs. This announcement marks a significant change in direction for the social media giant as it initially made a decision to avoid supporting GIFs as the social network giant claimed that it would make the News Feed ‘too chaotic’. Unbeknownst to most, Facebook already has built-in support for GIFs for some time now but it felt that GIFs could lead to the site and users’ News Fee...
