Cabbies Looking to Take SPAD and Force Ban onto Ride-Hailing Services

After months of one-sided fighting for their benefits where cabbies rage against the proverbial machine, it has come a point that the stalwarts of the taxi companies have been forced to do the ‘unthinkable’. In short – they have taken the Malaysian Land Public Land Transport Commission (SPAD) to court. Even when SPAD had given solid advice to these ‘came out of nowhere’ bodies and even confirmed that there never had been such non-governmental groups before, the people behind these illegal entities are now moving to take SPAD to task and get a court order to ban Uber and GrabCar. This move is in response to the recent confirmation that SPAD is planning to legalise these ever-popular ride-hailing apps .
