End of the road for Mazda’s CX-7 In Cars , International News , Mazda / By Jonathan James Tan / 23 August 2012 4:20 pm / 11 comments Tweet A Mazda spokesman has revealed to Autocar that the CX-7 has gone out of production, further claiming that although sales in the UK have been satisfactory at around 800 to 1000 per year, the company’s smaller CX-5 is doing well and it made sense to bring CX-7 production to a close. The idea is that the CX-7 would bow out, allowing the CX-5 to take its place. Mazda can then introduce its SkyActiv technology (first seen on the CX-5) range-wide, simplifying production and expanding profit margins. The Mazda CX-7 was officially launched in Malaysia in December 2009 wearing a RM248k price tag, although there were some CBU imports running around prior to that.
