Malaysia should condemn brutal attacks on civilians in Syria The Malaysian government especially Foreign Minister Anifah Aman should condemn brutal attacks on civilians in Syria. The non-interference stance by the Malaysian government is not tenable. Pakatan Rakyat strongly condemns the killing of more than 90 civilians in Syria last Friday of which 32 were children under the age of 10. We further demand that the Syrian government immediately cease the use of heavy weapons in population centers, and call on all parties to abide by Kofi Annan’s peace plan. It has been reported that more than 9000 people consisting of civilians have been killed in Syria while tens of thousands displaced since the uprising against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad began.
