Hyundai HND-9 concept heads for Seoul motor show
These design sketches are of the Hyundai HND-9 concept, which the Korean firm is bringing to this year’s Seoul motor show at the end of the month. The name refers to the ninth concept from Hyundai’s Namyang, Korea R&D centre. While the Detroit-debuting HCD-14 concept previewed the next-gen Hyundai Genesis in a sleek four-door coupe form, this one previews a “next-generation luxury sports coupe” – it must be the next Genesis Coupe , then. The concept’s engine, a turbocharged 3.3 litre GDI unit, feeds 370 hp to the rear wheels through an eight-speed auto ‘box. Whether this powertrain will carry forward to the production Genesis Coupe or not is yet to be confirmed, but it seems realistic enough a setup.
